Dr. Martin Luther Kings Vision
The type of nation that Dr. Martin Luther King thought the nation "ought to be" is a nation that respects each other no matter the color of a person. Each person has equal rights from the past until the future of our modern day world.
America "ought to be" fair regardless of being black, white, yellow, blue, or red. Dr. King spoke of the Good Samaritan. We need to help each other up when others need help. Do not pass by without lending your brother a helping hand. Think about the other person and work together.
America "ought to be" in unity as one nation. America should not be separate groups, for example one group of blacks, another group of whites, another group of Asians. No, America "ought to be" as one group, one unified nation, as one large group of people to make our nation a better place. In order to maintain unity, the diverse groups of people must work together properly. They must cooperate with each other. They must not cause so much chaos, or destruction, or any type of violence. They must maintain unity as one peaceful, helpful, nonviolent group.
Dr. Martin Luther King thought America "ought to be" courageous. America can be courageous by standing up and expressing to anyone you think should hear what you say is right for anything, anybody. Especially in Dr. Martin Luther Kings time and even now in our time. Back in his time, people had to have the courage to stand up for what they thought was right, so Dr. Martin Luther King took the stand not fearing anything to make our nation a bright, fairly-treated nation. We must do the same and help one another and not be selfish. If Dr. Martin Luther King had not taken the stand, our nation could possibly still be segregated, or even worse, slavery could be alive and well.
We can all work to make a type of nation Dr. King envisioned by expressing ourselves to be equal and fair. We can cooperate with each other with respect and in a nonviolent way in unity. We can stop fighting with each other and join together to be one Nation under God.
